For me the first thing that came to mind when someone
mentioned Aromatherapy was that it just smelled good. So, the skeptic that I was, I took a workshop just to find out what it was all about and I have to say that I am very glad that I did.
Essential oils have been used for centuries for medicinal, cosmetic, culinary, and spiritual uses. The essential oils used have powerful healing properties that can be absorbed thru the skin and also affect the nervous system thru the olfactory sense. However, most essential oils MUST BE DILUTED
with lotions or carrier oils before application to the body as they are very
highly concentrated. Each essential oil has a unique chemical composition consisting of botanical vitamins, hormones, and antibiotics. These can be used to help alleviate headaches (I have personal experience with this) muscular pains, depression, insomnia, stress…..the list goes on and on.
